The International English Language Testing System (IELTS) is a globally recognized test to assess your English Knowledge. It is required to prove your English Knowledge upon migrating to an English speaking country for study, work or migration purposes. This includes countries such as Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK and USA. IELTS is the most popular test for those looking to migrate to these countries. It is globally recognised by more than 11,000 employers, universities, schools and immigration bodies including 3,400 institutions in the USA.

There are two types of IELTS:  Academic and General Training. The Listening and Speaking tests are same but Reading and Writing tests are different. Read this article If you can’t figure out which test to take. Make sure that you prepare for the correct test type. The test takes 2 hours and 45 minutes. Learn more about IELTS test format.

IELTS results are graded on a scale of 1-9 where 9 is the highest score. Learn more about IELTS scores.

A score is given for each test component (Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking), which are averaged and rounded to produce an overall band score.
